Clinical Pharmacist Support · Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Clinical Pharmacist Support for GP Practices in Doncaster
Three raised registers in one borough, and a team that works all three. Doncaster records blood pressure, diabetes and respiratory disease all above the England average. Our clinical pharmacists take that combined workload on remotely, inside your own clinical system, to a schedule you agree.
The service is available to every practice and PCN in Doncaster, delivered remotely by our UK team inside your own clinical system. Cover never depends on who can travel, so the work is picked up to the same standard every week. We hold no premises in the town.

Three registers pulling in the same direction
Doncaster’s practices are commissioned by NHS South Yorkshire ICB alongside Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley, with a handful at the northern and eastern edges answering to the Humber and North Yorkshire board.
What marks the borough out clinically is that three registers run above the England average at once: blood pressure, diabetes and respiratory disease. Where one raised register adds a workstream, three overlap in the same patients, which is what makes structured reviews here longer and more valuable.
The borough is also unusually spread out for its size, from the town centre to former pit villages and the flat land east towards the Isle of Axholme. A service delivered inside the clinical system covers all of it on the same terms.
What you buy is a managed service: supervision, cover, indemnity and clinical governance are all held by us. That is the practical difference between this and recruiting for the work yourself, and it is why the workstream keeps running whoever is available in a given week.

Blood pressure registers across Doncaster run significantly larger than the England average in many of its practices. The consequence is a large monitoring and titration workload, and more blood pressure recall than average.
Figures are the median across GP practices in the area against the England value, from NHS Fingertips (National General Practice Profiles, QOF 2024/25). Only differences flagged as statistically significant are shown. Published NHS data about the area, not a statement about which practices we work with.
What the first three months usually look like
Indicative, and shaped by what you hand over. Nothing here needs a change to how your practice already works.
Weeks 1 to 2
Scope agreed against your registers, with protocols and system access alongside.
Weeks 3 to 6
First workstream live, usually the structured reviews where the registers overlap.
Weeks 7 to 12
Reporting on what was completed and what moved clinically, before a second workstream is added.
Fast email replies and clinical input whenever we need it. They picked up our medicines work seamlessly and delivered from day one.
Frequently asked questions
Do you have pharmacists based in this area?
No, and we do not claim to. Our pharmacists work remotely from across the UK, inside your clinical system. Nothing about the service depends on anyone being nearby, which is exactly why cover stays consistent: it never turns on who can travel on a given day.
Our patients often have several conditions at once. Can you handle that complexity?
That is the work we prefer to take. Reviews where three or four conditions interact are the longest to do properly, which is exactly why they benefit from a pharmacist whose diary is set aside for them.
Some of our practices report to a different board. Does that complicate things?
No. We work to the requirements each practice’s own commissioner is measuring, and scope that explicitly where a network spans two.
Can this be funded through ARRS?
In many cases, yes. ARRS funding can cover a commissioned service as well as directly employed roles. We map the fit against the current rules and your PCN’s allocation as part of scoping.
How quickly can you start?
Typically a few weeks, most of which is agreeing scope and protocols.
