Visionary Leadership
In Castleford in 2021, Clinical Director and pharmacist Laura Billyard founded Virtual Pharmacist with Luke Billyard, a software architect. The aim: bring clinical and technical work together to make remote pharmacist services consistent and well-governed.

Uncompromising Clinical Standards
Virtual Pharmacist was created to fix a real problem in primary care: inconsistent, poorly-governed remote pharmacy services. We deliver remote clinical pharmacy to practices through our own GPhC-registered pharmacists, all working within our clinical governance framework, with safety first in everything we do.

We back the service with quality systems and documented workflows. MedReviewAI is a tool we are developing to support pharmacist-led medication reviews; it is not yet live.

Virtual Pharmacist runs as a national network rather than a single clinician. Our 100+ pharmacists and 375+ GP practices share what works: workflow improvements and safety lessons feed back into the service.

We take time to understand each practice we work with. Rather than ask practices to fit our model, we adapt the service to fit them. A responsive head office team backs the work. The result is a practical partnership focused on patient safety and GP workloads.
