About the Role
Virtual Pharmacist is recruiting a remote pharmacy technician to support GP practices and primary care networks (PCNs) across England. This locum position is available under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS), enabling PCNs to access experienced, GPhC-registered pharmacy technician resource without the overhead of a salaried hire.
The role is entirely home-based. You will work directly within GP practice clinical systems (EMIS Web or SystmOne), supporting the clinical pharmacist team and GP practice managers with a wide range of medicines management tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage repeat prescription requests and authorisation workflows
- Support medicines reconciliation following hospital discharge
- Maintain and update patient medication records within clinical systems
- Assist with medicines optimisation audits and searches
- Manage drug alerts and recalls within the practice
- Support the clinical pharmacist team with structured medication review administration
- Handle prescription-related queries from patients and clinical teams
- Contribute to QOF and IIF data quality work
Requirements
- GPhC-registered pharmacy technician in good standing
- Minimum 1 year post-registration experience
- Experience in a GP practice, PCN, or primary care setting preferred
- Proficiency with EMIS Web or SystmOne
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Understanding of ARRS-funded pharmacy technician responsibilities
