Awards and recognition
Awards and recognition
Virtual Pharmacist was named Pharmacy Solutions Provider of the Year at the General Practice Awards, and appears in the official supplier winners list.
The award recognises clinically governed pharmacy services delivered to GP practices, Primary Care Networks and NHS teams across the UK. This page is the standing record of that recognition and of the certifications the service holds, so a practice or network can check what is claimed and where it comes from.
Pharmacy Solutions Provider of the Year
The General Practice Awards recognise suppliers and teams working across UK primary care, judged on what they deliver for practices rather than on scale or spend.
The service it recognises covers clinical medication reviews, prescription management and medicines queries, high-risk drug monitoring, discharge reconciliation, medicines optimisation, long-term condition review support, audit work and CQC support, delivered remotely inside each practice’s own clinical system.

Certifications and assurance
Recognition matters less than what a network can verify before it commissions anything. These are the standing assurances behind the service.
GPhC registration
Every pharmacist and pharmacy technician working on patient records is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
DCB0129 clinical safety
The clinical safety standard for health IT, with the documentation available to read before you commit.
Governance on request
Supervision, indemnity and information governance are documented, not described.
- DCB0129 clinical safety compliance
- Clinical governance and data security
- GPhC-registered pharmacists and technicians
The clinical governance page sets out how supervision, indemnity, information governance and clinical safety are handled, and what a commissioner can ask to see before commissioning anything.
Where we are in the sector
Alongside the award, the team takes part in the events where primary care buyers and clinical teams actually meet, and publishes its work openly rather than only on request.
